Earning Interest
What is interest?
Interest is what you earn on your money when you put it into a bank account. It is how you make money from money. There are many different rates of interest available and generally these are calculated on a per annum basis. For example, an interest rate of 1% p.a. (per annum) on a bank balance of R100 would earn you R1 a year. This interest can be paid out to you monthly, yearly or at the end of a specified and agreed period.
